Evan Schunk started day trading just like most of us, using a discretionary trading approach. Discretionary trading generally refers to reading the sentiment, price action, and tape of the stock, and using those information to try to get a pulse of its movement. However he discovered systematic trading with algorithms, and there was no more turning back for Evan!
Systematic trading defines concrete rules for the strategy, including entries, exits, stoploss and stock criteria. By using algorithms to execute his system, Evan is able to leave his emotions and manual execution out of the trading process during market hours.
